Wireless MUX - radio instead of cable

Wireless MUX, the new product of Phoenix Contact, is a perfect solution for steering and measurement signal transfer using radio transmission with Bluetooth technology. The package comprises of two paired I/O modules and antennas. The device permits bidirectional transmission of 16 two-state signals (24VDC) and of two analogue ones (0..10VDC or 0..20mA). The signal at the input of one of the modules is sent to the output of the other, which functionally corresponds with traditional cable signal transfer. The device eliminates the use of a 40 conductor steering cable. The information about input and output states is refreshed on a cyclic basis in less than 10 ms. Wireless MUX is a fully compact device package and the user doesn’t need to interfere with configuration or software in order to start radio transmission. The transmission range depends on the choice of antenna and on terrain configuration. The producer guaranties the range of 100m in industrial facilities and 200 up to 400m in the open. The proposed device is an alternative to steering and measurement signal transmission in locations in which usage of steering cables is difficult or special features like mobility or ease of configuration etc are required.
